"PARR" PULSE ARRHYTHMIA TECHNOLOGY

Prevent the risk of cardio disease and stroke by early detection of atrial fibrillation, premature contraction, tachycardia and bradycardia. Cardiac disorders need medical attention and thus early diagnosis is of paramount importance. The PARR technology detects arrhythmia during regular blood pressure checks without any additional user skills, user interaction and measurement prolongation.

What is Arrhythmia (Irregular Heartbeat), Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) and Premature Contraction (PC)?

Arrhythmia is a generic term for an abnormal heartbeat. There are many types of Arrhythmias such as:

  • Supraventricular arrhythmias (tachycardia) when the heart could be beating too fast.
  • Bradycardia, when the heart is beating too slowly.
  • Premature Contraction also known as an early heartbeat.
  • Atrial Fibrillation, when the heart is beating rapidly and disorderly.

Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is a common type of serious Arrhythmia that refers to rapid, disordered heartbeat rhythm. As the heart beats irregularly, it affects blood flow through the heart and makes it susceptible to the forming of blood clots. The blood clots can travel from the heart to the brain where they can cause embolism in the blood vessels, which may lead to a stroke.

Checking your blood pressure numbers

Blood Pressure (BP) is readings are expressed based on 2 readings. Systolic and Diastolic; in units of millimetre of mercury (mmHg).

Systolic (SYS mmHg)

Systolic pressure indicates how much pressure your blood is exerting against your artery walls when the heart beats.

Diastolic (DIA mmHg)

Diastolic pressure indicates how much pressure your blood is exerting against your artery walls while the heart relaxes between beats.
